Recently, the 2018 season of "Integrity Idol" came to an end. The program consists in finding the most honest official in Nigeria and this is the latest tactic by the government to prompt people to stop corruption. The winner is supposed to set an example for the rest of the population.
Political corruption is a widespread phenomenon in Nigeria. The discovery of oil and natural gas and the implementation of a public administration are two events that have significantly increased corruption in Nigeria.
Many efforts have been made by the government to limit the corruption, like laws and the enforcement of integrity systems but to no avail.Unfortunately, it does not work because corruption is deeply rooted in a Nigerian’s life, everything they do is paid for, and especially justice. Eventhough a lot of money has been recovered thanks to the efforts of the President, no sentences have been given to punish politicians guilty of embezzling money. With the presidential elections scheduled for February 2019, the president who is still standing for the next term has stepped up the campaign against corruption.

La corruption résiste
La saison 2018 de "Integrity Idol" s'est récemment terminée. Cette émission consistait à choisir le fonctionnaire le plus honnête du pays, unenouvelle tactique du gouvernement pour tenter de mettre fin à la corruption, le gagnant étant censé être un exemple pour le reste de la population.
La corruption politique est un phénomène courant au Nigeria. La découverte de pétrole et de gaz naturel et la mise en place d'une administration publique ont considérablement développé la corruption au Nigéria. Le gouvernement a fait de nombreux efforts pour la réduire, comme voter des lois et introduire des « systèmes d'intégrité », mais sans succès. Malheureusement, cela ne fonctionne pas car la corruption est profondément enracinée dans les pratiques des Nigérians, tout ce qu’ils font se paie, et particulièrement la justice. Même si beaucoup d’argent a été recouvré grâce aux efforts du président, aucune peine n’a été infligée pour punir les politiciens coupables d'avoir détourné de l'argent.
Avec les élections présidentielles prévues pour février 2019, le président qui se présente pour le prochain mandat a fait de la traque de la corruption le thème prioritaire de sa campagne.
