Bomb attack in Maiduguri

Last Sunday, the troubled northeastern city of Maiduguri was shaken by a terrible bomb blast.
According to the army and the residents, the target was a military patrol vehicle. The residents claimed that they saw ambulances in the explosion area but the army said that there weren’t any casualties.
Before this event, this city had been targeted by a series of bombings which were instigated by an Islamist sect known as Boko Haram. Many inhabitants quoted the loudness of the explosion and the fear that they felt. Thousands of residents fled the city after this incident, fearing for their safety.

Dimanche, la ville de Maiduguri dans le nord du pays, a été de nouveau secouée par l’explosion d’une bombe. D’après l’armée et les résidents, la cible était un véhicule militaire en patrouille.
Des résidents ont affirmé avoir vu des ambulances sur le lieu de l’explosion mais l’armée a déclaré qu’il n’y avait aucune victime. Avant cet évènement, la ville avait déjà été la cible d’attentats perpétrés par une secte islamiste nommée Boko Haram. De nombreux habitants ont témoigné de l’importance de la déflagration et de la peur qu’ils avaient ressentie.
Après cet incident des milliers de résidents, inquiets pour leur sécurité, ont préféré fuir la ville.

Amandine told me that her dream is to become a great doctor,maybe because she loves helping sick people but it could be for another reason like making a lot of money. She has also plenty of admiration for her father.She is afraid of dogs and she told me that if she could live in the country of her choice,she'd choose Australia.To conclude with, I'd say that Amandine is a simple girl who is sometimes jealous of other people and hates people who are intrusive.

Abdussalam enjoys swimming and playing ball sports. When he is not looking for new technologies, he is watching movies with Darth Vader his favorite hero. He will often disagree with his brothers because he thinks he is smarter than them. Abdussalam has a great project for his future;he would like to be an astrophysician.

Tijani is kind,clever and generous but he is pretentious. He is sometimes selfish aggressive. He likes doing sports, like football, basketball... reading mangas and playing video games. If he had a lot of money, he would make a donation to help the poor. Later he wants to be a businessman because he is blinded by money.

We would like to say thank you and goodbye to those who followed or discovered Nigeria thanks to our blog during this year.
Don't worry, soon three of the next 2nde M students will take up their pens again (a bad pun makes us wish them Goodluck!), thus you'll still be able to check the news!
As a farewell, here is our first post (in order not to be forgotten):

Valentine is one of those people who see the world another way. She analyzes and thinks differently. She pays attention to the most trivial things and do not care about the more important ones. Although she is different, she is also very faithful, funny, well-read. Obviously when you see her the first time, you think "Oh my god, she's mad!", but then you realize it's good for you.

Lucie is a restless type actually, but we love her that way. She has a lot of interests which she shares with pleasure, and is always doing her best at work or whatever else. Although she ferociously vindicates her own opinions, she gracefully manages to be both absent-minded and open minded.

Laure is a very special person, she's a positive character who never gives up. She is always smiling as she’s always happy. Laure is just a great girl, a good friend, who is smart, kind, and funny. Maybe, she looks like a "normal" person, but she's so much more. Don't underestimate her, she will suprise you!
