A militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), has bombed three pipelines in the south of the country but the claim not been confirmed yet.
Their claim they want some of the oil money distributed to the poor local population.
Nigeria is one of Africa's biggest oil exporters and it’s a huge hit on their economy.
Nigeria's government and the Dutch-British oil company Shell which operates the pipelines, have not said a word about it.
The NDA said they had blown up three trunk lines carrying 300,000 barrels of oil a day.
President Muhammadu Buhari had promised funds to develop the region.
One of the militants told the BBC that the government was playing with them and that it wasn't putting its words into action
The government, however, accuses the militants of holding the country to ransom.
The continued violence is designed to pressure the government into making an agreement.
Despite the enormous economic pain, the president is standing his ground.

Ils demandent qu’une partie de l’argent du pétrole serve à financer cette région pauvre.

Le gouvernement et l’entreprise anglo-hollandaise Shell, qui contrôle les pipelines, n’ont pas encore communiqué à ce sujet.

Le président Muhammadu Buhari avait annoncé avoir prévu un budget important pour développer la région, mais un militant a déclaré à la BBC que le gouvernement se moquait d’eux et qu’il ne tenait pas parole.
De son côté, le gouvernement a accusé les militants de prendre l’état en otage.
Le NDA cherche à forcer le gouvernement un accord par des actions violentes, mais sans résultat pour le moment.
