"Where goes oil ?"
A new report from the BBC show the corruption in Nigeria. In fact since 10 years Nigeria lost 29 billion of dollards because of the corruption and the oil theft. Every years 6 billion of dollards are stollen from Nigeria to Europe and Singapor. We can also see that Nigeria product a lot of oil to the rest of the world (in particular to Europe and the North America).
This is the people of Nigeria who suffer because of the corruption. Nigeria is one of the biggest producer of oil but the majority of its population is poor. So the production of oil doesn't benefit to the country and the population. Every day Nigeria product 2.5 millions barils but only 2 millions are sold so we can note that 500 000 barils are not sold. So we can observe Nigeria's population do not consume 500 000 barils a day so there is some thieft because nearly 500 000 barils disseapears every days.
The governement acted this week. This week the president, Goodluck Jonathan, launched a campaign against the corruption in the south where the oil is. This problem is very important for the governement because money from oil fleeing illegaly to advantage the thieves when the population suffer. It is even more important because there are billions witch are stollen and in a relatively poor country.
The drilling platforms are located in the south of Nigeria in the Niger Delta. There are Muslins ethnic group in the south like the "Ijaw" or the "Ibbibos" and the governement says that maybe it's the extremists from these ethnic group who steals oil. Shell is one of the producer in Nigeria. Shell decided to stop the production because armed groups kidnaped Shell's employees and asked Shell for ransoms. These groups sabotage the pipelines with explosives to extract oil.
In the Niger delta there are a some floods during the rainy season. The flooding slow the production of oil. The oil production has decrease in the last few month. Nigeria has reduce its oil production of 500 thousands of barils per days.

Un nouveau rapport de la BBC montre la corrruption au Nigeria. Dans les faits, depuis 10 ans, le Nigeria a perdu 29 milliards de dollards à cause de la corruption et du vol de pétrole. Tous les ans, 9 milliards de dollards sont volés du Nigeria pour l'Europe et Singapour. Nous constatons aussi que le Nigeria produit beaucoups de pétrole pour le reste du monde (en particulier pour l'Europe et l'Amerique du nord).
C' est le peuple du Nigeria qui souffre de la corruption. Le Nigeria est l'un des plus grand producteur de pétrole au monde mais la majorité de sa population est pauvre. Donc la production ne béneficie pas à la population et au pays. Tous les jours, le Nigeria product 2.5 millions de barils mais seulement 2 millions sont vendus nous pouvons donc en déduire que 500 000 ne sont pas vendus. Nous remarquons aussi que la population du Nigeria ne consomme pas 500 000 barils par jours, il y a donc du vol car environ 500 000 barils disparaissent tous les jours.

Ces groupes sabotent les oléoducs avec des explosifs pour en extraire le pétrole.
Dans le Delta du Niger, il y a beaucoups d'innondations durant la saison des pluies. Les innondations ralentissent la production de pétrole. La production de pétrole a baissé ces derniers mois, la production de pétrole a réduit de 500 000 barils par jours.
