The terrorist’s goodwill pledge



On Monday, Auwalun Daudawa, a terrorist leader, responsible in particular for the kidnapping of more than 300 schoolchildren, surrendered to the Nigerian police as part of an amnesty offered by the government.

His men and himself handed back about twenty Kalashnikov rifles as well as other weapons and a large quantity of ammunition. The terrorist leader claimed that he and his 5 lieutenants are not asking for any kobo (the local currency) in exchange for their surrender and added that they had simply been convinced by the government’s national reconciliation policy.

The Nigerian government told them that if they stopped all terrorist activity they could return to normal life. So, Daudawa swore on the Koran.



The Zamfara state governor, Bellow Matawalle claims that peace between the country and the armed groups is an important step for the development of his country adding that he would make his state the most pacific state in the country.

Lundi, Auwalun Daudawa, un chef terroriste, responsable notamment de l'enlèvement de plus de 300 écoliers, s'est rendu à la police nigériane dans le cadre d’une amnistie proposée par le gouvernement.

Ses hommes et lui ont remis à l'état une vingtaine de fusils kalachnikov ainsi que d'autres armes et une grosse quantité de munitions. Le chef terroriste affirme que lui et ses 5 lieutenants ne demandent pas un kobo (la monnaie locale du pays) en échange de leur reddition et ajoute qu’ils ont simplement été convaincus par les arguments du gouvernement en faveur de la réconciliation entre l’État et les groupes armés.

Le gouvernement a affirmé que s'il cessait toute activité terroriste il pourrait retrouver une vie normale. Il a donc juré sur le Coran de ne plus jamais commettre d’activité criminelle.

Le gouverneur de l’état Bellow Matawalle a affirmé que la réconciliation avec les groupes armées est une étape importante du développement de son pays avant d’ajouter qu’il ferait de l’état de Zamfara, dans lequel sévissaient les bandits, l’un des plus paisibles du pays.
