Shell blamed for oil leak
Amnesty International accuses Shell of false claims about its environmental impact in the Niger delta. On November 7, the NGO published a report about an oil slick which reached Nigeria's coast. Five years ago, 2 oil leaks affected 49,000 villagers. Amnesty International says that the oil company cannot be trusted and that there are serious discrepancies between the evidence of pollution and what Shell claims. According to Shell, the leak represented 4,000 oil barrels. They also said that pollution in Nigeria is also due to the sabotage of the amenities in the country.

Amnesty International accuse Shell d'avoir menti sur l'impact environnemental de ses activités dans le delta du Niger. Le 7 novembre, l'ONG a publié un rapport concernant les marrées noires qui touchent les côtes du Nigéria. Il y a cinq ans, 2 fuites de pétrole ont affecté 49.000 villageois. Amnesty International affirme que la compagnie de pétrole n’est pas crédible et qu'il y a de sérieux décalages entre l'évidence de la pollution et ce que Shell déclare. Selon Shell, la fuite représenterait 4000 barils de pétrole et que la pollution était du au sabotage des installations.
