19 killed in a minibus accident
Last Tuesday, returning from a wedding in the State of Jigawa, northern Nigeria ,19 people died in a minibus accident.
The vehicle was carrying 40 women and children for only 18 seats, when a tire burst causing a road exit. The minibus then turned upside down and caught fire.
Road accidents are common in Nigeria, mainly because of the lack of maintenance of the road network, the imprudence of the drivers and a lack of respect for the Highway Code but it is already the 3rd accident this month in same place.
On April 5, at least 19 people were killed in the crash of an overloaded truck carrying passengers. The driver had fallen asleep at the wheel.
On April 13, a tanker truck exploded, leaving 12 dead
and 16 wounded.

Mardi dernier, alors qu’elles revenaient d'un mariage dans l'état de Jigawa dans le nord du Nigeria, 19 personnes sont décédées dans un accident de minibus.
Le véhicule transportait 40 femmes et enfants pour 18 places seulement, quand un pneu a éclaté provoquant une sortie de route. Le minibus s'est ensuite retourné et a pris feu.
Les accidents de la route sont fréquents au Nigeria, notamment en raison du manque d’entretien du réseau, de l’imprudence des conducteurs et d’un respect approximatif du code de la route mais cela fait déjà le 3ème accident ce mois-ci au même endroit.
Le 5 avril au moins 19 personnes avaient été tuées dans l'accident d'un camion surchargé qui transportait des passagers. Le chauffeur s'était assoupi au volant.

c'était un camion-citerne qui avait explosé faisant 12 morts et 16 blessés.
